About Mia's Services

"I have been caring for dogs my whole life as I have grown up with them! I absolutely love working with and looking after so many different pets, I hope to make every animal under my care feel safe and loved while their owners are away.

I have taken and completed an online Dog Body Language course (iPET Network Level 2 Award in Canine Body Language) which gives me a more in depth understanding of dog communication. As well as that I have taken a ‘Dog CPR, First Aid and safety’ course which means I will do everything I can to keep your pets happy and healthy!! I also volunteer at a cat shelter which has given me lot of experience with a variety of cats with different personalities and needs.

I am willing to tend to the individual needs of every pet, if you have any specific requirements or needs please let me know beforehand and I will take it into account. I have worked with elderly pets, rescue dogs and puppies. I will need to know any medical needs your pet has, but also habits and specific routines. This is so I know what I am getting into so I can prepare ahead of time.

For emergencies I always will request that you tell me your pets registered vet and the location. As I said, I have taken a course in Canine First Aid so I will do everything I can in smaller emergencies, but I will go to a vet if the issue is something I can't fix myself.

As I currently don't drive I will use Uber Pets to get me straight to the vets, or I recommend that you provide me emergency contacts of trustworthy neighbours/ friends who can drive."

About Mia

"I'm 19 years old and from as early as I can remember I have had so much love for dogs, and animals in general. I grew up with very close with my family dog, a gorgeous West Highland White Terrier called Molly. When she passed I was 12, and I very quickly realised that I couldn't imagine life without a dog at home, and after years of begging my parents we got two more dogs who I couldn't love more.

As soon as I found out that people care for dogs for a living, I knew that I wanted to start as early as possible. I joined an app called Rover at the start of 2023, and quickly starting getting bookings! A few months in I realised that this could actually be a full time job and I started looking for ways to expand my knowledge so I could live up to my full potential. I joined online courses, met with lots of other pet professionals and used social media to advertise. In addition to all of that, I met the wonderful Hannah Molloy who is a qualified Animal Behaviourist. She coached me for 6 months and taught me everything I needed to know about canine care and running my own business. I wholeheartedly love my job and the animals I meet, and I hope to expand my business for many years to come.

If you want to find out more about me I post regularly on my Instagram and TikTok, both @miiaspets."
